Terms of service

These terms describe how the Aback Screenshot service may be used, what is billed and what is not.

Last updated: 21 October 2026

The service

Aback Screenshot captures a public web page that you supply and returns an image. The service is provided as is, and no uptime, latency or throughput guarantee is offered. Published performance figures are measured values, not promises.

Only the options that the service actually enforces are offered. Rendering can differ between websites, browsers and networks, so an image is a faithful capture of one rendering, not a pixel accurate reproduction of every visitor's screen.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to capture pages you are not permitted to access, to work around authentication, paywalls, bot protection or access controls, or to capture personal data about people who have not consented to it.

Do not use the service to distribute malware, to attack third party systems, or to attempt to reach internal networks. Requests to loopback, private, link-local and cloud metadata addresses are rejected, and attempts to use the service that way may be blocked without notice.

Do not resell the raw capture service as a general purpose browser, proxy or scraper.

Your content and your responsibilities

You keep every right in the pages you capture. You are responsible for having the right to capture them, for the licences of the content inside them, and for the lawfulness of any personal data they contain.

By submitting a URL you ask the service to visit that page. The visit may cause the target site to record the request, its address and its user agent, exactly as any visitor would. Make sure you tell your users before you submit their pages to the service.

Plans, quotas and billing

A plan includes a monthly number of billable captures. A capture is billable only when it produced a usable image. Validation failures, blocked addresses, rate limits, timeouts and target site errors are not billable.

Paid plans are billed in advance each month by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record. A plan change or a cancellation takes effect when the payment provider confirms it. Prices may change with at least 30 days notice, and the price shown at checkout is the price charged for that period.

Refunds are handled by the payment provider according to its own policy. Ask for a refund within 14 days of a charge and the request will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

Retention and deletion

Captures are stored privately and deleted after the retention window, which is one hour by default. A signed link that points at a capture expires at the same time. Account data is kept while the account is active and is deleted within 30 days of a deletion request.

The service does not use captures for marketing, for model training or for any other purpose. Deleting a capture removes the stored image.

Availability and liability

The service is provided without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. The service is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost data or the consequences of a capture that did not match your expectation.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

These terms may change. The last updated date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and continuing to use the service after a change means the new terms apply.
